Viral marketing campaigns, 2.0

just another thing while on the topic of viral marketing, heres a little thing I wrote on the old spice campaign:
The Old Spice commercials were 1st released to the internet on July 14th, 2010. They feature many famous celebrities such as Neil Patrick Harris and Terry Tate. They have also created fame for Isaiah Mustafa, who was seen 6.7 million times in the 1st commercial just 24 hours after it was released to the internet, and gathering another 17 million in 12 hours after that. The Old Spice Commercials have become the fastest growing viral marketing campaign ever released to the internet. The campaign ran for 3 days with Isaiah replying to 186 comments and questions from many social networking and other similar sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Digg.

hey peoples long time no sepak, ive been busy with... school work...? hehe but yeah, just recently ive come up with this viral marketing campaign, check it out:

My viral campaign would feature an “army” of people dressed up as famous video game characters running down a street in slow motion. It would feature characters such as Halo’s Master Chief, Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake and an assortment of others. They would then proceed to run into a retirement village and just destroy it, all acting the way their characters would, for example, having Mario running around smashing random bricks jumping up and down, Sam Fisher running around all sneakily on the roof of the buildings etc. All this would feature slow motion action shots, with some sort of orchestral epic score going in the background. While all this is happening, old people are running (or rolling) away in fear of their lives all because of this nerd army attacking their homes in a normally peaceful retirement community. It will initially be aired on TV but due to its content, hopefully it will get banned as this will cause the internet to jump all over it, and because of the huge word of mouth power the internet now has, the view count will only go up from there. The only really negative thing about this is that in order for it to go viral it has to offend some people in order for the internet to jump on it, but offending several people in order to gain millions of viewers is a price I can live with.

Drawing in Flash

So igot to drawing in flash in class today, decided to try drawing something i've been drawing for years, eyes. Considering I had to use a mouse to draw it, it looks pretty good, especially the iris etc, with the way the colours blend etc, so yeah, check it out

hey guys, long time no speak, been on holidays.
Yeah i had an EXTREMELY unproductive two weeks, but i did get a bit of work done in the flash module with the thought of the day assessment activity, but instead i'm using a quote from the amazing movie - Lord of War. In my opinion its looking pretty amazing, but yeah thats just me.
But other than that nothing else of interest to report, so ill be back soon hopefully with more stuff to report.

Fixin' it up

so just finished customising my blog page, as you can probably see, had to do a bit of googling to actually find out how to do some of it as i dont know html, like at all. But once i had found what i was looking for it was quite simple, all i had to do was put a couple of lines in to make the text boxes transparent so you could see the awesomeness of the background image. I also made a title header in photoshop because in my opinion the standard box with text thing that it had goin on by default was pretty boring, so yeah, i changed it up a bit XD. In my next post ill upload some of my previous graphic design work, ive also been working on my website a bit more, linked it to this blog, starting to look pretty good, but im out now so see ya's all round

so i joined this tafe course, cert 3 media, yeah? its pretty fun, get to sit at home on the pc and do what this website tells me. Most of it is pretty straight forward, thanks to past education. At this point in time i'm still doin the design part of the course, with this blog being an assessment part of it. Working on an advertising banner as well which is shaping up pretty well, just tryin to find some more inspiration from tutorials on the net, but from what i can see, it will end up looking pretty good (but thats just my opinion XD). But yeah, looks to be a good year, just started messing around in dreamweaver, and ill upload some pics of a basic porfolio site i made, but yeaahhh, ive run outof stuff to write about so im out cya! XD
